Russell Burror Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been created in honor of Russell Burror whose dedication to water
safety and professional work in the aquatic industry has made a lasting impact in the Bay
Area. Russell started his career as a lifeguard in high school and college. He worked for the
EBRP district as a field supervisor and Antioch Water Park as Recreation Specialist
encouraging children to swim and training many teens to become lifeguards. He served as a
Territorial Aquatics Specialist for the American Red Cross and worked for the Fulton El
Camino Recreation District as a Recreation Supervisor in Sacramento before his passing in
2018.

BAPPOA is pleased to offer part-time Aquatics staff the opportunity of additional funding for
post high school education in Russell’s honor.
